CLIENT COMMITMENT

As your Realtor, it's my duty to prioritize, protect and promote the interests of my clients and put your interests first. This obligation means that a REALTOR cannot make decisions or provide representation in a way that puts their own interests or commissions ahead of their clients’ interests.

Here are some key points regarding my commitment to you as your buyer agent:

01  |  CUSTOMER VS. CLIENT

This is a very important distinction in real estate. The type of relationship you have with your agent holds different levels of commitment. In real estate, a buyer can be considered both a customer and a client. What differentiates them is their relationship with a salesperson or broker. A client has a contractual relationship, while a customer does not. A client has a signed agency agreement with the realtor, establishing a fiduciary duty where the agent must act in the client's best interest. A customer is not bound by a contract and does not have the same level of representation from the realtor, including fiduciary duty.

02  |  FIDUCIARY DUTY

The term "fiduciary" means trust, and a representative holding a fiduciary duty has a legal obligation to maintain that trust. In short, fiduciary duty in real estate is the legal obligation for realtors to act in the best interests of their clients. As a fiduciary, a real estate broker will be held under the law to owe certain specific duties to his principal, in addition to any duties or obligations set forth in a listing agreement or other contract of employment, including (1) loyalty; (2) confidentiality; (3) disclosure; (4) obedience; (5) reasonable care and diligence; and (6) accounting.

03  |  BUYER REPRESENTATION AGREEMENT
As your buyer agent I will work for you, and in your best interest, toward a successful purchase. As of August 17, 2024, it is federal law that home buyers will be required to sign a written buyer agreement with the agent they have chosen to work with. This agreement is a legal document that outlines the relationship between a real estate buyer and their chosen agent, specifying the services the agent will provide, the buyer's expectations, and the compensation structure for the agent during the property search and purchase process. Read FAQs here.

04  |  AGENT ROLE AND SERVICES

As your buyer agent I will guide and assist you through the many aspects that constitute the home buying process. You can review the specific roles I serve as your advocate during this process while advising you toward a successful purchase. It's important to understand not all buyer's agents bring the same amount of expertise or experience; these are the specific services I typically provide while representing buyers.
